Process
This project holds a lot of meaning to me, in that it plays such a crucial role in making sure education is widespread and accessible to everyone, regardless of income, location, and background. The emotional connection to this college affordability project fueled my creative concepting process, as shown below.
As a North Carolina native, I thought about what would be eye-catching, relatable, and recognizable to everyone living in the state. My first take on this was to try a postcard type of approach, to sell North Carolina as a place where anyone can afford college. While this was a fun exploration, it was not a strong concept to represent the campaign. After collaboration with the creative director and other designers, I tried a more vivid and vibrant route that intertwined bright colors, playful textures and bold type. From this exploration, the final design, shown above, was born.
